HOMOEOPATHY FOR PARKINSON’S DISEASE IN OLD AGE PEOPLE

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive impairment or deterioration of neurons (nerve cells) in substantia nigra (part of brain).
The PD is a movement disorder that progresses slowly, beginning with a sense of weakness and a slight tremor of the head or hands, then gradually progressing to more generalized symptoms.

 Signs and symptoms
  • Trembling in fingers, hands, arms, feet, legs, jaw, or head
  • Stiffness of the limbs and trunk, which may increase during movement. Rigidity may produce muscle aches and pain. Loss of fine hand movements can lead to cramped handwriting (micrographia) and may make eating difficult.
  • Slowness of voluntary movements, especially in the initiation of such movements as walking or rolling over in bed.
  • Decreased facial expression, monotonous speech, and decreased eye blinking.
  • A shuffling gait with poor arm swing and stooped posture (parkinsons’s gait)
  • Unsteady balance; difficulty rising from a sitting position due to loss of reflexes
  • Continuous "pill-rolling" motion of the thumb and forefinger.
  • Abnormal tone or stiffness in the trunk and extremities.
  • Swallowing problems in later stages
