Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a form of dementia, which means failure of brain function. AD is a progressive, degenerative brain disease. This disease most commonly found in people over 65 years of age. Mostly it affects on memory, thinking, and behavior. It may start off with slight memory loss and confusion, but eventually leads to irreversible mental impairment that destroys a person's ability to remember, reason, learn, and imagine.

Typically, the early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease include memory loss, difficulty in performing familiar tasks, language problems, disorientation with relation to time and place, poor or decreased judgment, problems with abstract reasoning, tendency to misplace things, personality and behavioral changes, loss of motivation or initiative, impaired communication, inability to follow directions, impaired visuospatial skills, emotional apathy, and social withdrawal, i.e., less willingness to interact with others.
